Opening Brain Teaser - This would be a great thing to write on the chalk or white board for boys and parents to have something to think about while they wait for everyone to arrive at a Pack or Den Meeting.  (An idea you could use would be to reward the cub scouts a piece of candy if they get it right).

Gathering Activity
WRITE A FUNNY CAPTION

Materials: Chalkboard, Chalk, shoe box, pencils, paper. Write on the Chalkboard: Go to http://boyslife.org/section/games/write-a-funny-caption./  Look at the 3rd picture and think of your own caption for it.  Write it down and put it in the box.  During the meeting read everyone's caption.

CUB SCOUT OPENING

Materials: Each letter of C-U-B S-C-O-U-T should be cut out from poster board or printed on large pieces of paper or card stock. Write the lines on the back in large print and line

up the Cub Scouts so they can read the lines in order.

Cub #1: C is for Comradeship. We learn to get along.

Cub #2: U is for Unity. Together we are strong.

Cub #3: B is for Boys! Sometimes we’re wild, but mostly we’re nice.

Cub #4: S is for Spirit! Full of energy and always nice.

Cub #5: C is for Courtesy. This we know.

Cub #6: O is for Outings. We can’t wait to go!

Cub #7: U is for Universal. Scouts are known in every land.

Cub #8: T is for Teamwork. We’ll lend you a helping hand.

Cub Scout Leader Thank You Cards

I think it would be a miss, if I did not mention using this blog as a resource.  Go to the blog archive on the left-hand side of the screen. (remember that if you are using your cell phone, you need to scroll down to the bottom and click on 'view web version' first to see the left and right hand sides of this blog.
Using the blog archive click on Feb 2015 - Compassion/Aware and Care and you will find the links to download this card for printing. It would be a great idea to have the Cub Scouts of any Den Leader sign the card and give it to him/her at a pack meeting.

Audience Participation/Game Idea
PAPER PLATE TIC TAC TOE THROW

With blue painters tape, make a 9 square grid on the floor that looks like a Tic Tac Toe board.  On the back of 5 paper plates draw an X. On the back of 5 more paper plates draw an O. Have the players try to throw the paper plates like a Frisbee into their desired squares to get Tic Tax Toe to win.
